Legal Administrative Assistant – Corporate Tax / Corporate Commercial *NEW*
Urban Legal Recruitment is proud to partner with our highly regarded client, a leading national law firm, in their search for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join their dynamic team. This full-time, permanent role provides critical administrative support to a group of Tax lawyers whose practices focus on Corporate Tax with a component of Corporate Commercial.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of legal assistant experience in Corporate Tax and/or Corporate Commercial law, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment. Key Responsibilities
- Draft, prepare, and compile various types of correspondence, documentation, forms, and filings using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Organize and maintain both physical and digital filing systems to support efficient and effective management of client communications and records.
- Open and close client files in accordance with firm protocols.
- Manage and respond to client inquiries and conduct appropriate follow-up.
- Prepare expense reports, docket entries, cheque requisitions, client accounts, e-billing, and collections.
- Coordinate and maintain lawyer calendars, deadlines, and bring-forward systems; gather supporting information for meetings and schedule appointments.
- Support larger-scale business development initiatives including travel coordination, accommodations, and event logistics.
- Collaborate as part of a team and provide additional support as required.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Legal Assistant diploma from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of legal assistant experience, preferably in Corporate or Tax law.
- Experience with iManage and/or Intapp Open is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with strong technical aptitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong proofreading abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple competing and urgent deadlines.
- Professional, accountable, and proactive approach to work.
