Our client is now seeking a talented junior to mid-level Labour & Employment Associate to join their esteemed team in Calgary. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in a dynamic practice group, enhancing your skills alongside some of the country’s top Labour & Employment lawyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise and represent employers on a broad spectrum of employment and labour law matters, including the implications of corporate transactions and reorganizations.
- Engage in labour arbitrations and administrative tribunal proceedings (experience in this area is a plus).
- Draft and review employment contracts, executive compensation agreements, and navigate issues related to workers’ compensation, pay equity, and employment equity.
- Handle cases involving occupational health and safety prosecutions, human rights, employment standards, privacy, terminations, layoffs, and workplace investigations.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- 2-4 years of post-call experience in labour and employment law from a reputable national, regional, or boutique firm. Including experience with corporate transactions and reorganizations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and client service abilities, with a proactive approach and aptitude for teamwork.
- Superior organizational and project management skills, adept at handling multiple time-sensitive priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent academic credentials
- Qualified to practice law in Canada.
