With more than 30 years in the legal industry, Shona Tischner brings deep experience and a warm, approachable style to her role as Director of Executive Recruitment and Professional Support at Urban Legal Recruitment. Since joining the firm in 2018, she has become a trusted partner to candidates and clients alike. Known for her candid guidance, exceptional instincts, and ability to make the recruitment process feel a little less stressful and a lot more human.
Before joining Urban Legal, Shona spent over a decade as the Director of Human Resources & Administration for a global law firm. This role gave her a front-row seat to the inner workings of legal teams and a keen understanding of what truly makes people succeed in those environments. She pairs this insight with an easygoing, down-to-earth manner that puts people at ease and helps them feel supported from the very first conversation.
Shona is also a committed contributor to the legal community. She has served in leadership roles with the Calgary Association of Legal Administrators, including two years as VP of Sponsorship, and held academic advisory positions with both SAIT and Bow Valley College. At SAIT, she served as Co-Chair for the Legal Assistant Program, helping shape curriculum and support the next generation of legal support professionals.
