Urban Legal Recruitment is pleased to partner with our highly regarded client, a leading national and international law firm, in the recruitment of an Associate Lawyer to join its Construction Litigation team in Calgary.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated lawyer with 2–6 years of construction litigation experience to join the Calgary Construction Litigation practice group. The candidate will work closely with strong teammates, senior advocates and great mentors to provide exceptional service.

The ideal candidate must have experience in construction litigation, proven client management skills, strong analytical, communication, and drafting skills, and be prepared to engage in a team environment with challenging work with clients.

Qualifications and Attributes:

• 2–6 years of post-call experience in construction litigation and arbitration from a reputable Canadian law firm; a combination of construction and commercial litigation experience is ideal

• Thorough understanding of construction documents and the litigation process relating to contract awards, construction liens, and related proceedings

• Experience providing strategic advice to clients throughout the procurement and construction process, including guiding owners, developers, and contractors through construction-related disputes

• Exceptional communication and drafting skills with strong attention to detail

• Strong analytical, communication, and drafting skills

• Efficient, organized, and a collaborative team player

• Client-oriented with strong professional judgment

• Strong academic credentials

• Qualified to practice law in Canada
