Our client, a leading national Tier 1 law firm, is seeking a talented mid-level associate with strong credentials to join the Capital Markets Group in its Calgary office. Candidates should have 3 to 6 years of post-call experience at a national or international law firm, with substantial exposure to capital markets and M&A transactions. Skills & Experience:

• Significant experience advising on capital markets and M&A transactions, including public and private offerings, plans of arrangement, and other business combination transactions
• Strong working knowledge of securities laws, corporate governance principles, M&A concepts, continuous disclosure obligations, and stock exchange requirements
• Proficiency in drafting and reviewing prospectuses, subscription agreements, underwriting agreements, arrangement agreements and other business combination agreements, continuous disclosure documents, and general corporate documents
• Experience acting for issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions and/or for purchasers and targets in M&A transactions (an asset)
• A desire to take on significant responsibility and leadership roles on transaction teams
• Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Strong academic credentials and a record of excellence
• Strong interpersonal and client-service skills
• Creative problem-solving skills and sound commercial judgment
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Must be qualified to practice law in Alberta
