Associate Lawyer - Corporate Securities

Our tier one client is a leading, full service, national law firm with offices around the globe. They are recognized as an industry leader in the areas of Capital Markets and M&A in Canada and across the globe.

Our client continues to be very busy with no shortage of quality work. They are now looking to add a highly skilled and qualified Corporate and Securities Associate to their current compliment of legal experts in their Calgary office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a collegial team and hone your skills in a broad range of domestic and cross-border transactions, securities and corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of both private and public companies; corporate restructuring and recapitalization; corporate and intercorporate arrangements including reverse takeovers and asset acquisitions and divestitures; private equity financings for funding startups; financing transactions including public and private offerings of securities; and compliance with both corporate and securities regulatory requirements relating to stock exchange listings, corporate governance, continuous disclosure obligations and shareholders’ meetings.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • The successful candidate will have 2-6 years of corporate securities private practice experience with an emphasis on Capital Markets and M&A from a national or a reputable regional platform.
  • A breadth and depth of technical legal knowledge, excellent business judgement, and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, strong initiative, and the ability to work well on a variety of teams
  • Excellent organizational, project management and leadership skills, and the ability to handle multiple time sensitive priorities.
