Litigation Paralegal

You will understand the importance of confidentiality in a professional setting and have a great attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Database administration and technical support for Litigation software
  • Manage and organize incoming electronic evidence
  • Assist with file review for privilege and relevance
  • Prepare Affidavits of Records
  • Organize and track Undertakings
  • Prepare Statements of Defence, Bill of Costs, Applications and other various pleadings at all levels of Court
  • Communicate regularly with Lawyers, Paralegals, and Legal Assistants in a professional manner
  • Participate in a collaborative team environment
  • Track and record time with billing targets
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of litigation experience, including commercial and insurance defence
  • Keen interest in e-Discovery and working towards being an e-Discovery specialist
  • Working knowledge of Eclipse software
  • Advanced computer and technical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of litigation process at all levels of Court
  • A high level of skill in both verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate activities in a timely manner
  • Ability to work to deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy while working under pressure
